The Lincolnshire Farming Conference returns to the Lincolnshire Showground on Tuesday 28 February 2017, with this year’s topic of managing risk and planning for the future.
The conference will include talks from a number of speakers, plus case studies and one to one sessions with industry experts from accountants to agronomists and machinery dealers. Speakers already confirmed include Kelly Hewson-Fisher from Anglian Water, Bill Clark from NIAB, Nuffield Scholar Doug Wanstall, Graham Redman from The Andersons Centre, and Guy Smith Vice President of the NFU.
Speaker Doug Wanstall is a fourth generation farmer based near Ashford in Kent. The family runs a few different businesses; as well as the farming enterprise, they operate three wedding venues, a cookery school and have involvement in a food wholesaling business. Most of his time is spent on the farming enterprise, which consists of 445 hectares of arable and a free-range egg business with some 170,000 laying birds spread across a number of counties.
As well as the presentations, throughout the day there will be chances to speak to individual companies at their stands. Refreshments and a Lincolnshire hog roast will be available to enjoy after the afternoon sessions.
