Eddy van Lierde has been appointed as global head of incubation services at Aviagen. A search has begun to fill his previous position as incubation specialist. Van Lierde is to replace Dinah Nicholson, as she transitions to retirement.
In his new role, van Lierde will lead Aviagen’s team of global incubationists providing support to customers around the world, as well as to Aviagen hatcheries.
One major focus for the incubation team is research, including incubation trials to provide the latest, relevant and practical advice, working closely with incubator and hatchery automation companies.
“I am excited to begin this new adventure with a dedicated group of people who are committed to our customers and our birds, and am proud to be part of their team,” he said. “Chick health, welfare and performance begin in the hatchery, and what we do is essential to providing our customers with the robust stock they need to feed the world.”
