Yorkshire Game, including the retail brand ‘Wild’ has been sold to Gressingham Game, part of the Suffolk-based Gressingham Foods group, best known for its duck products.
Under the terms of the acquisition, Gressingham Game has entered into a new lease for Yorkshire Game 17 Limited’s premises at Brompton on Swale in North Yorkshire, and has taken on all employees of the business saving approximately 25 jobs.
Leeds-based restructuring specialists PKF Geoffrey Martin & Co have handled the sale.
As well as duck, Gressingham Foods has long been associated with game and through this new venture, is committed to developing the best wild game and venison products.
Managing director William Buchanan said: “Our aim with Gressingham Game is to build on the tremendous success we have enjoyed over the last 20 years introducing more and more people to the great taste of duck.”
