Ten new egg recipe videos have been launched by British Lion eggs to appeal to devotees of the online “foodporn” craze.
Recipes in the series include classics like poached eggs on sourdough and more adventurous dishes like quinoa scrambled eggs, all explained in 15 and 30-second videos for sharing on social media sites such as Instagram and YouTube as well as Vimeo, Dailymotion and several top food blogs.
“The popularity of eggs continues to grow, with the #EggCentric social media campaign helping new audiences to wake up to their benefits,” said British Egg Industry Council chairman, Andrew Joret.
British Lion eggs has also developed a collection of “extra quick and healthy” family breakfast recipes to meet a growing demand from consumers for egg-based alternatives to cereals to start the day.
“Breakfast is the largest meal occasion for eggs and is showing the most growth, but there is scope for it to grow even more,” said Mr Joret, adding that the latest consumer research showed egg consumption at breakfast to have risen by 18% in the past two years, growing both during the week and at weekends.
