Anglia Free Range Eggs, an egg packer, has reported growth in annual turnover and profits in its latest report and financial results covering the year to 30 June 2024.
Turnover during the period was up by £18.3 million compared to the year ending 30 June 2023. This was driven by an increase of 38% in the number of egg cases sold.
The average price per dozen was up 15% in 2024, the company’s report states, primarily as a result of increased feed costs. These have reduced post-year end and this is reflected in the company’s 2025 sales.
Gross profit margin has remained consistent as other costs such as haulage and packaging have increased in line with sales.
At the end of the year, the company purchased a new Moba 350 grader with improved robotic handling, which the company expects will lead to increased efficiencies.
Turnover during the year reached £49.01 million, up from £30.69 the previous year. Profit after tax reached £2.59 million, up from £1.45 million the year before.
