A new research paper has reported that consumption of whole eggs promotes greater muscle-building after exercise than just eating egg whites. The extra vitamins, minerals and fats in whole eggs have muscle-building properties, over and above the high levels of leucine.
The study showed that not only is the whole egg beneficial for muscle-building but the nutrients in the yolk are also valuable for overall health.
The research supports recommendations that nutrient-dense foods with high protein content are essential for optimising muscle-building and overall wellbeing after exercise.
The study was published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, October 2017, and more details can be found here https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/
