St Ewe Free Range Eggs has been awarded the Guinness world record for the greatest distance to carry an egg in one week, by taking on 300 miles of the Cornish coast path.
The egg and spoon race took place between 3 and 7 July, with two teams competing to finish first. Both teams set a new world record with The Great Eggsplorers coming in first with 231.51km (143.86 miles), followed by Team Eggstreme setting a further record at 248.32km (154.29 miles). Collectively, the teams walked 479.83km (298.2 miles) of the Cornish coast path over five days, to raise money for Cornwall Air Ambulance and Hospitality Action.
Rebecca Tonks, CEO of St Ewe Free Range Eggs, said: “We’ve chosen two incredible charities to support through this exciting initiative; Hospitality Action, who help the food and hospitality industries and another closer to home, Cornwall Air Ambulance, who carry out over 1,000 missions a year and are a lifeline for so many in the county.
