Applicants should be passionate about the poultry sector and motivated to ensure future policy is fit to allow poultry farmers to remain resilient and progressive.
Nominations can now be submitted by NFU members wishing to sit on the national poultry board.
The national poultry board’s remit is to formulate NFU policy for the poultry sector and represent the interests of NFU poultry members, covering both the poultry meat and egg sectors.
The work of the national poultry board covers a wide remit of issues affecting the poultry sector and those who are currently involved find it a worthwhile and rewarding experience.
The board is looking for 12 enthusiastic and driven individuals to contribute to the work of the national board who really want to make a difference for their sector.
The national board meets six times a year and in return for their work members receive an annual honorarium which is paid monthly.
Board members are elected for a two-year period (March 2022 to March 2024) after which time they may stand down or stand again for re-election.
Board meetings will either take place in person or via Microsoft Teams and attendance is expected at all twelve meetings across the two-year term.
