A new veterinary practice dedicated to poultry and game birds has been opened.
Avivets founder William Garton said the practice offered advice and consultancy, diagnostic services and laboratory testing and veterinary products and supplements to poultry producers of all types and sizes. It opened on 1 March and will work will businesses across the north west of England.
“We offer a unique service to the producer through a subscription package which guarantees contact time with vets, rapid disease investigation and diagnosis as well as health surveillance and flock production analysis,” said Garton. “These services are providing vital in the modern change of poultry producing as we see the use of antimicrobials decline and the involvement of advisors and consultants increasing.
“Our first facility in High Legh, Cheshire offers post mortem examinations, laboratory testing and consultancy and advice, as well as dispensing medication and supplements. We provide on-farm services to all producers that require them in the northwest region and travel as far north as Dumfriesshire, west to Anglesey and South to Newport,” Garton said.
Garton previously worked with Minster Poultry Vets as an associate director leading its Northwest branches at Garstang and Wrexham.
