Phosphea has launched a new mineral complex for the broiler market. The launch of HumIPHORA is the result of six years of internal research and development.
HumIPHORA is part of Phosphea’s Evolution range. This calcium humophosphate is listed at the European Animal Feed Register and provides high quality phosphorus and contributes to a better use of other nutrients, more specifically plant-based phosphorus. How? By impacting some antinutritional factors, thanks to its chelation properties.
The product has been developed to interact with feed matrix in the gut, and both provides mineral phosphorus and also controls the anti-nutritional effect of calcium. Four trials carried out between 2019 and 2021 in France and the Netherlands have shown the effectiveness of the product. The studies showed on the one hand that the phospho-calcium status of broilers and layers was preserved, confirming that the animals did not lack phosphorus despite the decrease in incorporation.
In addition, an improvement in the feed conversion ratio of 1% was observed on broilers in three trials. Meanwhile, a decrease in phosphorus discharge into litter was measured between -14% and -21% in two trials. Finally, an in vitro test was carried out at the Centre Mondial de l’Innovation of the Groupe Roullier, showing an improvement in the adsorption of different mycotoxins with HumIPHORA treatment.
