Ceva has launched a system that automatically separates male and female broiler chicks at hatch. The system, Ceva Genesys, has been designed to achieve better flock homogeneity, the company said.
Sylvain Comte, is poultry franchise director at Ceva Animal Health. “Since 2011, Ceva has worked side-by-side with the poultry industry to modernise hatchery processes,” he said. “We have successfully equipped more than 150 hatcheries with the next generation of candling technology, Laser Life, or the in-ovo vaccination system, Egginject.
“Building on our success, we are now installing our latest state-of-the-art technology, Ceva Genesys, for gender sorting for broilers. We are pleased to offer our customers this innovation, which will bring value across their entire production chain.”
