Stonegate has added Mole Valley Farmers to its list of authorised feed manufacturers for organic poultry feed.
Mole Valley Farmers took charge of Uffculme Mill in Devon in 2023 and subsequently developed the site into a dedicated organic feed mill. As a feed partner to Stonegate, Mole Valley has developed a range of organic diets for the Stonegate supply chain. These include the Soil Association and OF&G Organic diets along with a range of bespoke diets required for the Clarence Court brand.
Mole Valley Farmers join Wynnstay Agricultural Supplies, Forfarmers & HJ Lea Oakes in supplying Stonegate’s organic egg producers.
Jim Turner, Head of New Producer Recruitment at Stonegate, said: “Ensuring Stonegate’s producers have access to a fair and competitive supply of inputs is vital for both our farmers and customers. However, as our bird nutrition requires the very highest standards of welfare and output, any new supplier of organic feed to the business needs to meet very stringent criteria. Mole Valley Farmers have impressed us at every stage of the evaluation and I’m delighted to welcome them as a partner.
Kevin Singleton, Director of Agriculture at Mole Valley Farmers, said: “We are delighted to become one of Stonegate’s authorised manufactures for their organic egg producers. As a farmer owned cooperative, we are committed to helping our organic Farmer Shareholders, members and farming customers increase their productivity, profitability and sustainability. This is why we’ve recently entered into a long-term commitment to operate a feed mill in Uffculme on the Devon / Somerset border as a 100% organic feed mill.
“We know our organic farmers are looking for a feed manufacturer with high service levels and quality products that are competitive on farm. Uffculme Mill with its excellent production team and dedicated delivery drivers enables us to do this on a daily basis.
“We’re looking forward to the opportunity to build lasting relationships with Stonegate and their egg producers.”
