Livestock feed manufacturer, Harbro has announced a new addition to its poultry business to bolster the existing team.
Harbro was founded in north east Scotland nearly 50 years ago and today operates a number of compound mills across the UK as well as being an on-farm mill and mix specialist, producing over 200,000 tonnes of layer feed a year. It is also the largest supplier of on farm minerals in the UK.
David Hilldrith has been appointed as poultry business development manager and has 20 years’ experience in the poultry industry.
Chris Baxter, Harbro’s managing director, said: “England is a key focus for the growth of the business; we already operate mobile mill and mix hubs across England (Usk, Stratford, Lincoln) and have compound sites in Newport and York and have been looking for some time to expand the team to support production.”
“It’s a pleasure to be joining Harbro, a company that offers monogastric feeding solutions right across the UK, whether this is for the home mill and mixer or the compound customer,” said Hilldrith. “With Harbro’s core values at the heart of the business, this will benefit producers in many ways, from performance driven cost savings, to reduction in CO2 along with sustainability benefits. I look forward to speaking with producers over the coming weeks and months about how we can help support their business for a long term partnership together.”
