At an event sponsored by Minister for Food Security and Rural Affairs, Daniel Zeichner, British Poultry Council chair, Martin Troop, joined key stakeholders to celebrate the excellent contributions of poultry people feeding the nation.
The BPC annual awards recognise long and distinguished careers, contributions to research, and individuals who have supported and made significant contributions to the British poultry meat industry.
Troop told attendees: “Our aspirations are only as strong as the actions we take. Today is about celebrating those actions because our award winners are true catalysts for change.
“The actions you take make a meaningful contribution to UK food security and a thriving future for British poultry meat production.”
Troop continued: “We face pressing challenges that cannot be ignored. As we outline in our latest report, it is no longer enough to ‘bounce back.’ Poultry meat businesses don’t just want to overcome challenges. They want to ‘build forward’ to transform challenges into opportunities.”
In its latest report, “From ‘Bouncing Back’ to ‘Building Forward’,” the BPC underscores the collective responsibility of producers, policymakers, and wider stakeholders to shift from a survival mindset to one rooted in stability, opportunity, and trust.
