Banham Poultry has reported an improvement in performance in its latest annual accounts, returning to profit in the 52 weeks ending 31 December 2023.
The poultry processor, owned by Boparan Manufacturing Group, reported sales of £199 million during the period and an operating profit of £14.7 million. For the year, the overall profit after tax was £13.4 million.
The previous accounting period was 78 weeks ending 1 January 2023, and during this previous period the firm recorded a loss of £531,000 on sales of £235.5 million.
The company said the improvement was driven by sales price increases and efficiencies found in the cost base.
