Avara Foods is to hold an open day at its Telford processing site to try and attract new team members. The poultry giant said it would open its doors on Saturday 25 January to give people “the chance to learn about the range of great roles we have available, and how they can progress their career.”
On the day visitors will be given a tour of modern factory, and the opportunity to meet current staff members, as well as taste the range of poultry products made in Telford.
The Telford site is one of Avara’s main processing facilities, handling up to 1.5 million birds per week. The business employs over 1,200 people in Telford.
Avara said it was looking to recruit staff all levels of the business, and there were clear development paths for every function giving career opportunities into senior positions:
Engineering, L3 Apprenticeship with a starting pay rate of £8.70 and guaranteed role to qualified multi-skilled engineer
Production – production operative to section managerT
echnical – quality operative to quality auditor
Logistics – warehouse operative with opportunities in MHE such as forklift trucks and drivers.
