The animal health group, Origin, has welcomed the addition of Nottingham-based Retford Poultry Partnership to its portfolio, creating a veterinary business spread which now includes Biobest Laboratories, Garth Pig Vets, Minster Poultry and Gamebird Vets, Westpoint Farm Vets and Poultry Health Services.
The move has also been applauded by Retford’s managing director, Libby Harrison, who said her staff will be working closely with the team at Origin, particularly the new colleagues at Minster Poultry and Gamebird Vets.
“This gives us unrivalled access to knowledge and support from one of the industry’s leading poultry practices, enabling us to enhance the services we offer to our clients,” she said.
Retford is one of the oldest poultry practices in the UK, with over 35 years’ experience in the health and welfare of all varieties of birds. The company supplies a wide range of services to commercial egg layers, broiler, turkey, pigeon, gamebird, and caged bird and raptor keepers.
“The synergies between Minster and Retford mean that both practices will be improved even further for the benefit of all of its customers,” said Minster Poultry and Gamebird Vets’ managing director, Mike Clark.
“Poultry practitioners can no longer offer a “one size fits all” style of service. A bespoke service, tailored to the individual client needs, is now vital for success in our industry.”
