The NFU’s poultry unit has published guidance for producers concerning how to apply to the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) for both general and specific licences to allow a poultry movement or activity that would otherwise be prohibited under the restrictions which are currently in place due to the confirmed outbreak of Avian Influenza (AI) H5N8 in turkeys near Louth, in Lincolnshire.
The union’s advisory page also includes details on how to check whether or not an individual farm is covered by the current protection or surveillance zones.
