APHA has confirmed a case of H5N5 Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in a free range laying flock near Hornsea, East Riding of Yorkshire, Yorkshire.
A 3km protection zone and 10km surveillance zone was declared at 8.25pm on 5 November 2024.
This is the first case of HPAI in commercial poultry in the 2024/25 AI season, which commenced on 1 October. All poultry on the infected premises will be humanely culled.
