Over £45,000 has been raised by members of the UK and European poultry industry following a 500-mile charity cycling event known as the “Tour de Ross” which was organised by Aviagen.
The money, which will go to the Honeypot Children’s Charity, was raised through the efforts of more than 70 cyclists from the UK, Ireland, Italy, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Hungary who joined the event to help celebrate 60 years of Aviagen’s Ross brand.
“The generosity from all who have contributed has been overwhelming,” said Aviagen UK’s general manager, Graeme Dear.
“The Honeypot Children’s Charity was chosen as out sole beneficiary after we became inspired by its aim of changing the lives of children who find themselves in the role of being a carer at home. To be able to benefit them with the involvement and support of the UK and European chicken industry was just magnificent.”
