Quality Meat Scotland Chief Executive, Uel Morton, and Scotland Food & Drink (SF&D) Chief Executive, James Withers, joined more than 300 Scottish industry leaders, sports people and politicians in a CEO Sleep-out in Edinburgh last week to raise funds for a new project to help the city’s homeless people.
The sleep-out, which took place in Charlotte Square, Edinburgh, was held in support of a fund-raising project to build the country’s first village for the homeless, located in Edinburgh’s Granton area.
The project, run by Social Bite, has a fundraising target of £500,000 and aims to house up to 20 homeless people in a purpose-built, safe living environment for about 12 months each, from summer 2017.
