MSD Animal Health has appointed Nick Munce as commercial lead at Poultry Sense.
Earlier this year, MSD Animal Health acquired Poultry Sense, which offers proprietary technology that enhances health and environmental monitoring solutions for poultry producers.
With more than 10 years of experience in the integrated livestock sector, Mr Munce was formerly head of technical and customer solutions for pig and poultry at MSD Animal Health.
He said: “I now have the opportunity to be part of a precision technology start-up business in Poultry Sense. My previous role at MSD Animal Health prepared me well for this challenging opportunity.
“I look forward to working with the Poultry Sense development team to ensure the customer needs are met through precision technology, which is a growing area in agriculture. This innovative technology is an important tool used to assess an animal’s health and welfare, which contributes to enhanced productivity and efficiency measures on-farm and, ultimately, to better food safety and security.”
Alan Beynon, managing director of Poultry Sense, said it is fantastic to be growing the team at this pivotal time.
“The Poultry Sense solution is expected to reach more customers around the world, changing broiler production for the better in terms of health and performance and providing solutions to improve global supply chain traceability and transparency,” Mr Beynon said.
“Nick brings invaluable experience and knowledge to the team as we expand our footprint. It’s a very exciting time for the business and his experience and expertise will be fundamental with commercial roll-out on the horizon.”
