The Advisory Committee on Animal Feedingstuffs (ACAF) is seeking a new member to contribute to its delivery of advice to the Food Standards Agency (FSA) on the safety and use of animal feeds and feeding practices.
Applicants should have knowledge and experience in enforcement issues, knowledge of feedingstuffs legislation, as well as some committee experience.
“The post represents an excellent opportunity to contribute to food safety and standards in the UK by providing advice on this key stage of the food chain,” said ACAF, which is currently under-going a status change following last year’s triennial review of the UK’s scientific advisory committees.
In response to the findings of the review, ACAF is due to merge with the Advisory Committee on Novel Food and Processes through a consultative process that is scheduled for completion by December 2017.
The new committee appointment will therefore run through to December 2017 or until the dissolution of the committee.
