John Kirkpatrick has joined South Yorkshire based food production company Chesterfield Poultry in the new role of Director of Agriculture.
Formerly Agriculture Manager at Tesco, responsible for poultry and eggs across Asia, South America and Europe, he also sat on the Assured Food Standards (Red Tractor) Poultry Board, representing the British Retail Consortium during his tenure at the retailer, between 2015 and 2023.
Kirkpatrick brings over two decades of agricultural, technical and commercial experience across both poultry and eggs.
He will be responsible for overseeing the agricultural supply chain at Chesterfield Poultry, one of the UK’s fastest growing chicken specialists, with multiple poultry producing and processing sites.
“It’s an exciting time for Chesterfield Poultry,” said managing director Nadeem Iqbal. “We are delighted to welcome John to the Chesterfield family, recognising his strong agricultural and commercial experience. He has built his career on strong and trusted relationships with the farming supply chain which will help us to continue to deliver and grow with our farming supply base and meet the needs of our customers.”
