Next month’s Brexit meeting for UK poultry producers and industry stakeholders will address three key elements of potential business impact while also examining how the change in the UK’s future status looks from a European perspective.
The meeting, which will be chaired by NFU director general, Terry Jones, is scheduled for September 8 and will be held at the union’s headquarters at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.
The three key topics, selected for discussion, are:
- Trade – scenarios and options
- Access to labour
- Domestic policy and improving competitiveness
There will also be a presentation by the NFU’s European poultry policy adviser, Richard Potts, who is based in Brussels and will give delegates a European perspective on the impact of Brexit, alongside an analysis of the UK poultry industry’s current trade positon in Europe.
The meeting will run from 10am to 3pm.
