The Polish poultry meat company, SuperDrob, has upgraded its operating system for unloading livestock in Karczew, increasing the speed of its slaughter line by 25% to 10,000 chickens an hour.
The development follows the recent completion of a new plant construction for the company and coincides with the creation of a new line for ready meals, which is located in Łódź.
SuperDrob said the new unloading process will deliver a signicant improvement in the welfare of the poultry and considerably improved working conditions for employees on the company’s slaughter line.
”The cages were previously unloaded manually, which was hard work,” said SuperDrob’s production manager in Karczew, Jan Grzegrzółka, ”while everything is now fully automated.”
The development of the new line for ready meals in Łódź, meanwhile, is capable of producing 1.5 tonnes of product per hour, allowing the company to access new markets for its output.
SuperDrob is a family-owned egg to a retail product company which was established 22 years ago. Close to 50% of its output is exported to other EU countries.
