Four key members of the family-owned German poultry company, Borgmeier, recently completed a fact-finding visit to Aviagen’s head office in the US.
“In this industry, it is important to be aware of what others are doing and to gather information and experience from other countries,” said Borgmeier director, Heiner Borgmeier. “We will definitely take notice of what we have learned and will implement it in our own business.”
The visit included presentations and tours of Aviagen facilities and customer farms, an overview assessment of the North and South American market and an update on meat quality. The Borgmeier team were also given a “first-hand look” at Aviagen’s R & D efforts.
“Borgmeier is one of the largest family-owned poultry companies in Germany,” said Aviagen EPI sales manager, Henk Steenblik. “With a variety of products being placed by the company, it is important for their business to see processes and facilities in other regions of the world.”
Aviagen also said it was grateful for Borgmeier’s commitment to its products and for its successful promotion in Germany, a base from which it was looking forward to many more years of working together closely.
