After more than 40 years with Kelly Turkeys at Danbury, sales manager Diane Ball has decided to take life a little easier and work part time – opening the door to two newcomers Nicola Foweraker and Danielle Sale.
Diane joined the company in 1983 and has seen the company progress into the major producer of premium Christmas turkeys including the multi-award winning KellyBronze and one of two hatcheries supplying poults to farmers growing turkeys for their own local demand.
Initially she combined office work with a hands-on role in the hatchery during the poult season in the first half of the year, then handling Christmas turkey sales. In her new role she will be taking a three-month winter break which she says will provide a real bonus to spend more time with her five grandchildren.
“Diane’s contribution to the business has been immense to say the least,” said Paul Kelly, managing director of Kelly Turkeys. “The close relationships with our customers along with deep knowledge of the business has led to what I would like to think is outstanding customer service. We are lucky to have her still with us part-time and this will hopefully last another 40 years.”
Nicola Foweraker has joined Kelly Turkeys in a new role combining administration of the farms with managing the transport fleet. She moves from a position as office manager of a company supplying equipment to the TV and film industry where she worked for seven years.
Danielle Sale has joined to support Diane in managing the seasonal sales of poults and the Christmas turkeys. She has 15 years’ experience with a storage and logistics business.
