An additional three cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza have been confirmed in England since Friday.
H5N1 HPAI has been confirmed in commercial fattening turkeys at a premises near Pocklington, East Riding of Yorkshire, Yorkshire. A 3km Protection Zone and 10km Surveillance Zone was declared on 17 January 2025.
H5N1 HPAI has been confirmed in a small free range laying flock at a premises near Rye, Rother, East Sussex. A 3km Protection Zone and 10km Surveillance Zone was declared on 17 January 2025.
H5N1 HPAI has been confirmed at a large free range laying unit at a premises near Mablethorpe, East Lindsay, Lincolnshire. A 3km Protection Zone and 10km Surveillance Zone was declared on 17 January 2025.
Since 1 October there have been 19 confirmed cases of H5N1 HPAI and 1 case of H5N5 HPAI to date in poultry across the UK: 19 in England, 0 in Wales, 1 in Scotland and 0 in Northern Ireland.
