The Association of Independent Meat Suppliers (AIMS) has announced the appointment of Dr Jason Aldiss as its new executive director, effective from January 2025.
“Dr Aldiss was selected after a rigorous selection process, emerging as the ideal candidate from a pool of exceptional individuals,” said John Thorley, chair of AIMS. “His appointment marks a significant step forward for AIMS, as he will work alongside Norman Bagley, the organisation’s founder and current head of policy, to ensure AIMS continues to thrive and grow in the coming years.”
Norman Bagley established AIMS in 2001. Bagley now wants to reduce his day-to-day administrative and management duties, but will remain a vital figure within AIMS, offering his insights and experience to members as they navigate the challenges of an ever-evolving industry.
“Dr Aldiss brings over 30 years of experience in the meat industry, having held a variety of senior roles both in the UK and internationally,” said Bagley. “He’s well-known and highly respected by members, politicians, regulators, and the wider agri-livestock community, Jason’s extensive background and leadership skills make him the ideal choice to help AIMS continue its robust support of the entire British meat sector.”
“I am truly honoured to have been selected as AIMS’ executive director,” said Aldiss. “I look forward to building on the strong and robust foundation that Norman has established. AIMS is renowned for its unwavering commitment to supporting its members, and I am excited to work closely with Norman to ensure that this tradition continues, while also driving new growth and opportunities for the organisation.”
