Aviagen has reported annual turnover up 3.9% to £181 million, in its latest accounts covering the 52 weeks ending 30 June 2022. Operating profit increased 8.1% to £64 million during the same period.
The breeding company said the performance would allow it to continue its long term research and development and business investment strategies.
The accounts show that turnover earned in the UK during 2022 was £17.2 million, compared to £20.6 million the year before. However, overseas income increased to £164.3 million in 2022, up from £154.1 million the previous year.
The total number of employees during 2022 was 432, an increase from 428 the year before. The company spent £14 million on wages and salaries, up from £13.7 million in 2021. The highest paid director earnt £243,492.
