Steven Thompson has been appointed the new country representative of specialty chemicals group Lanxess, which supplies the poultry industry with products to enhance biosecurity on farm. His predecessor Jacques Perez is moving to take up the role of country representative in Japan. In addition to the new role, Thompson will keep his current position as head of human resources in the EMEA region.
After studying chemical engineering, Thompson started his career in the nuclear industry and after that worked in manufacturing operations, supply chain and logistics at Unilever, FMC, Great Lakes Chemicals and the Metro group. Thompson joined Lanxess as global HR business partner of what is now the Polymer Additives business unit in April 2017.
Lanxess has approximately 500 employees at its offices and production sites: Baxenden, Branston, Deeside, Newbury, Sudbury, Trafford Park and Widnes.
