Hubbard is marking its 100th anniversary as a broiler breeding company. The firm was founded in 1921 by Ira Hubbard in New Hampshire, USA.
The family built the company through continuous improvement of chicks, and by the 1950s were offering various breeds to US farmers. The company gradually moved to a fully integrated system, adding parent stock and grandparent stock to its day old chicks.
International expansion started in the 1960s in Europe and then towards the rest of the world.
In 2018, Hubbard became part of the Aviagen Group, with substantial additional investments in the Hubbard Premium and Conventional R&D programs in France and the USA, as well as in production facilities in France, USA, Brazil, and Poland.
Initially Hubbard planned to celebrate with its customers and business partners at industry meetings and trade shows, but due to the still ongoing COVID-19 situation the company has had to postpone until 2022.
