Following his unopposed nomination for the position of Chair, Neil Parish – Conservative MP for Tiverton and Honiton – has been confirmed as the new Chair-elect of the Environment Food and Rural Affairs Committee.
Parish will take up the role of Chair once the remaining members of the Committee have been appointed by the House.
Parish said: “I’m delighted to return as Chair of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee. The next Parliament presents a pivotal and hugely exciting time to reshape agriculture, environment and fisheries policies for years to come. Our Committee has a real opportunity to scrutinise and influence Government policy for the better, and I look forward to working closely with my colleagues from across the House of Commons.”
