Embarking on a special roadshow, Aviagen and its Ross parent stock distributor Moy Park, travelled across Ireland for three days during October for a series of breeder seminars. Their mission was to visit Moy Park parent stock customers and help them optimise care during rearing and laying. Skillful husbandry during this time results in good hatchability and quality chicks, giving chicks a healthy start to life.
During the roadshow, the Aviagen and Moy Park team met with 100 poultry professionals, representing four customers throughout Ireland. Lighting considerations, male management, hatching egg quality, optimal brooding and management from transfer to peak were some of the key conversations the participants engaged in during separate dedicated rear and lay sessions.
Niamh Molloy, Aviagen technical service manager, was the key speaker at the event. “We chose the topics to address the individual needs of Irish customers. The roadshow gives us an effective way to demonstrate our support, bringing our practical discussions to them in their home environments. There we can better understand their needs and daily challenges first-hand, and offer our best advice for optimising their operations,” she explained.
Euan Meldrum, Moy Park sales manager said: “We were delighted to have Niamh join us to engage with our customers and share her experiences from across the EU. These workshops provided an excellent opportunity to discuss the latest thinking and best practice on breeder management.”
