British Lion eggs is encouraging consumers to enjoy the ultimate British Lion breakfast during the British and Irish Lions rugby tour.
Millions of rugby fans will be tuning in to watch the first test between the British and Irish Lions and the New Zealand All Blacks on 24 June. And with the tests taking place early in the morning, it’s the perfect time for consumers to kick the day off with a tasty, protein-filled egg breakfast.
The high-protein dishes are designed to be quick enough to cook during half time, and will be available on www.eggrecipes.co.uk, on the popular Egg Recipes Instagram and Pinterest channels, and are also being placed within high-profile consumer media.
The half time recipe collection includes:
1. Green protein pot – The ultimate protein pot; smashed avocado, spinach and seeds with a squeeze of lime and a hint of chilli served with two hard boiled eggs.
2. Micro Mexican pot – A combination of peppers, onions, tomatoes, kidney beans, avocado and chilli topped with two baked eggs which can be cooked in the microwave.
3. Avocado and egg quesadilla with salmon – avocado, spinach, tomato and a runny egg filled whole-wheat tortilla, topped with smoked salmon.
4. Spinach omelette with salmon – a protein packed omelette topped with spinach, peas, smoked salmon and cheddar cheese.
Andrew Joret, British Egg Industry Council Chairman, said: “Eggs are a big favourite with rugby players, including Lions captain, Sam Warburton, who wakes up to a four-egg omelette. And with research showing that consumers are actively seeking inspirational egg dishes, the new collection of high protein recipes is the perfect way to encourage rugby fans to wake up to eggs.”
