The Poultry Industry Programme (PIP) is back.
The NFU, in partnership with ABN, are urging all young innovators within the sector to apply now for the third cohort of this bespoke initiative, aimed at developing the future leaders of the poultry industry.
“After a turbulent 2016, the poultry industry is facing a period of change. To get through these challenging times it’s imperative that the industry work together to develop a common voice,” said ABN’s national sales manager, Danny Johnson.
“The PIP programme consists of a series of events tailored to give successful candidates the opportunity to gain a valuable insight into all aspects of the poultry industry. It also gives them the chance to learn new skills and build relationships with a network of likeminded young professionals looking to make their mark on the sector.”
The initiative will run from September 2017 for 18 months, with a number of bespoke sessions ranging from leadership skills, to improving market insight and visits to the UK and EU parliaments. 100% of the previous cohort said that they would recommend the programme and found that the content was useful to their business or career.
“Both the NFU and ABN are invested in the programme for the long-term. Our vision is for the PIP to become a mark of recognition within the industry. With this in mind, we’re looking for people who can demonstrate a passion for the industry and have a desire to make their voice heard and play a part in shaping the future,” said Johnson.
The programme is open to all young people working in any role within the poultry industry aged between 20 and 35. The deadline for applications is 28 April. Those who are shortlisted will be invited to attend an interview later in the spring.
