The UK’s chief vet, Nigel Gibbens, will be hosting a twitter chat on Thursday this week to address the issues surrounding the use of antibiotics in farming.
The debate will cover the following points:
- How we can support UK farmers to take action to reduce antibiotic use
- The new Defra targets for farming
- How vets can help Government deliver a change in prescription culture in farming
- Improved consumer protection through safer meat
The chat will also include the Food Standards Agency’s Evidence & Research and Veterinary Director, Javier Dominguez.
The chat time is from 1pm to 2pm on Thursday, October 6.
