Last weekend’s big TV focus on Strictly Come Dancing, The Apprentice and BBC Sports Personality of the Year, kicked off a high value “party food fortnight” for viewers, with chicken products featuring prominently in the choice of snacks.
“We sell three quarters of our Christmas nibbles and drinks at this time and we know that guests expect to see a spectacle on their plates as well as on screen,” said Tesco’s party food buyer Amelia Roberts:
“This Christmas we’re helping hosts make their parties even better with affordable upmarket delicacies that are ready to serve in minutes.”
Ms Roberts added that key party treats this year include Chicken Curry Spring Rolls, a Chicken Kebab Selection and Thai Chicken Skewers.
The value of the UK chilled and party food markets is estimated to be worth more than £160m a year.
